Highly recommended!

I had been searching for a qualified, licensed contractor to do a small but significant structural home repair for two years. Licensed contractors either didn't want to travel to Winder, or weren't interested in the job as compared to building homes. I finally found Cardinal Construction when they were doing other work in my neighborhood and I gave them a call. They responded extremely quickly, came out to inspect the work very quickly, and gave me a quote very quickly. Then, instead of the 3-9 month lead time I'd heard from other contractors (before telling me they weren't after all interested), Cardinal let me know they could get started within a couple of weeks. Ultimately I had them do four jobs. They did the repairs quickly, thoroughly (inspected by a structural engineer I hired independently), at the price they committed to up front, which was competitive and reasonable. Where additional work was added at my request mid-job, the answer was yes and the price continued to be fair. One job was a double-wide window that was buckling out of its frame. Other contractors/handymen told me the window had to be replaced for thousands of dollars. Cardinal inspected it, told me they thought it could be repaired and at worst if they discovered it couldn't, they could put it back as-is until we decided what to do. They were able to save the window, the repair looks like nothing ever happened, for only a few hundred dollars. Another repair was to a wobbly railing (the base board the vertical supports go into was wobbling on the floor). Other contractors told me they'd drill extra support screws through the baseboard and do something cosmetic to conceal the repair. Cardinal was able to remove part of the mechanism, discovered insufficiently sized screws had been used previously, replaced them with properly sized support, and close it back up, without altering the cosmetics at all. I genuinely don't know how they did it because there is no sign of repair, other than the railing no longer wobbling. They also did a water leak remediation in one room, drywall, paint, ceiling tile, and other associated finishing work after the repairs, including matching paint tone so well I cannot tell old from new. Every day they cleaned up and at the end of the job did a thorough cleaning of all leftover materials and debris. Nothing was left for me to deal with other than dusting. Communication by the folks in charge was consistent, appraising me daily of the progress. Questions I had were answered promptly. After the job was complete and I'd paid them the remainder owed in full, I discovered a few punch list items (cosmetic, not structural) that I asked to be addressed. They were out immediately the next morning and addressed them to my satisfaction. I am a very happy customer, and will be hiring them in the future for some additional work I'd like done when the budget allows. Highly recommended.
